Getting Familiar with Point-of-Care Ultrasonography

New to ultrasonography? Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) examinations are a great place start, as they are easy to learn and quick to perform. Although not a complete diagnostic evaluation, POCUS techniques provide clinicians with important and rapid information that improves the standard of care and complements other diagnostics such as radiography and blood work. This session will review 2 basic but important abdominal POCUS examinations every general practitioner can use daily: abdominal FAST and focused urinary bladder ultrasonography.
