About This Course
Most cats are adept at managing water balance and hydration. As with other animals, this is a refined homeostatic mechanism that is vital to normal healthy living. The physiologic control of thirst, water balance, and hydration is complex and can be disrupted in a number of different disease processes. This talk will provide an overview of the mechanisms involved in maintaining normal hydration, how and when these mechanisms may become disrupted, and the consequences of those disruptions.
