Welcome to Plumb's Therapeutics Brief
Dear readers,
We are thrilled to share a new publication in the Brief family tradition with you; this one is focused solely on drugs and therapeutics in small animal settings. With Plumb’s Therapeutics Brief, we sought to establish a straightforward, concise set of articles that can supplement your treatment knowledge. Short, novel formats are its hallmark, including polypharmacy cases that require choice and interaction from clinicians, along with treatment/management algorithms and key case presentations. As a practicing veterinarian, I am anxious to read it regularly and glean ongoing treatment expertise for management of my cases.
Our editors in chief are names you will quickly recognize:
Dr. Donald Plumb, renowned author of Plumb’s Veterinary Drug Handbook, has provided many veterinarians and veterinary pharmacists and pharmacologists, as well as their human medicine counterparts, with respected, valued information on drugs and treatment protocols.
Dr. Lauren Trepanier, an esteemed veterinary internist and clinical pharmacologist at University of Wisconsin–Madison, is active in both clinical medicine and research. Her clinical interests focus on pharmacology and therapeutics, with special emphases on adverse drug reactions and interactions.
Together they have assembled a variety of timely topics that are sure to enhance your daily practice. We know you will regularly use this as part of your therapeutics point-of-care armamentarium!
All the very best,
Indu Mani, DVM, ScD, FNAP
