Michael H. Court, BVSc, PhD, DACVAA, holds the William R. Jones Endowed Professorship at Washington State University. He received his veterinary training from University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, his anesthesia specialist training from Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, and his pharmacogenomics research training from Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Court has authored numerous articles on pharmacology research. He received a Special Emphasis Research Career Award from the National Institutes of Health, the Frank K. Ramsay Invited Lectureship, and the Pfizer Award for Research Excellence. His current research goal is to develop genetic tests that enable identification of dogs susceptible to development of severe adverse effects from drugs used for anesthesia, in surgery, and for treatment of pain.
