Khursheed Mama, DVM, DACVAA, is a professor of anesthesiology at Colorado State University. She earned her DVM from Washington State University and completed an internship in large animal medicine and surgery at University of Guelph and a residency in anesthesiology and critical patient care at University of California, Davis. Her interests are improving anesthetic safety and appropriate treatment of perioperative pain in veterinary patients.
Marisa K. Ames, DVM, DACVIM (Cardiology), is an associate professor of cardiology at University of California, Davis. Dr. Ames earned her DVM from The Ohio State University. She also completed a rotating internship at Michigan State University, an emergency critical care internship at Tufts University, and a cardiology residency and the Jane Lewis-Seaks postdoctoral research fellowship at North Carolina State University. Dr. Ames is on the executive board of the American Heartworm Society. Her research interests are in neurohormonal activation in cardiovascular and kidney disease, specifically the pharmacologic modulation of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, and heartworm disease.
