David Eshar, DVM, DABVP (ECM), DECZM (SM & ZHM), is an associate professor of companion exotic pet and zoo animal medicine at Kansas State University. He earned his DVM from Hebrew University in Israel before completing an internship at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University and a residency at University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Eshar is the leading author or coauthor of nearly 100 scientific publications in all aspects of clinical medicine of exotic, wild, and zoo-kept species. His interests include the care of invertebrate, fish, amphibian, reptile, and avian patients, as well as nondomestic mammals, in captivity.
