Marie Holowaychuk, DVM, DACVECC, is a specialist in small animal emergency and critical care who works as a consultant, locum, and speaker. She is a certified yoga and meditation teacher and has completed a mindfulness-based stress reduction course for professionals. She has trained in compassion fatigue at the University of Tennessee School of Social Work and in mental health first aid at the Mental Health Commission of Canada. She also has completed the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training course at the Centre for Suicide Prevention in Canada. Marie writes a biweekly blog and a monthly newsletter on pertinent issues related to veterinary wellbeing, and she facilitates veterinary wellness workshops and retreats for veterinary care providers.  

FUN FACT: Marie’s speaking engagements have allowed her to travel worldwide. Her favorite destinations thus far include the Bahamas, Northern Ireland, Belize, and Peru.
