Bonnie V. Beaver, DVM, MS, DSc (hon), DPNAP, DACVB, DACAW, is a professor at Texas A&M University. Dr. Beaver earned her DVM from University of Minnesota, her MS from Texas A&M University, and her DSc (hon) from University of Guelph. She has served as president of the AVMA, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, American College of Veterinary Behaviorists, and American College of Animal Welfare. She has presented widely on animal behavior, animal welfare, and the human–animal bond and has written numerous articles and books.
