Scout is a skilled companion dog from Canine Companion for Independence. He was matched with Duncan 3 years ago in May. Duncan is 17 years old and has Cerebral Palsy. Scout picks things up off the floor for Duncan when needed. He can carefully remove Duncan's socks for him and will pick up the laundry from the floor and place items into the dirty hamper. Scout pushes drawer and cabinets doors closed for Duncan.

Perhaps most importantly Scout serves as a wonderful companion and a social bridge for Duncan when interacting with the public. Scout loves to snuggle and a very occasional smack on peanut butter.
