Wysong Corp. Recalls Moldy Dog Food

The Midland, Michigan natural pet food company Wysong Corp. has recalled the following products:

Canine Diets Maintenance: lot numbers 090617, 090624, 090706 and 090720

Wysong Senior: lot number 090623

The company has admitted that "mold has been found in some bags of Wysong dry extruded dog foods manufactured in June and July of 2009" and fingers a broken moisture-checking device during the manufacturing process for the problem. Retailers are being asked to contact Wysong's distributors and can do so by sending an email (wysong@wysong.net) with the words "Product Replacement" in the subject line. Pet owners should return their products to the point of purchase in order to receive a refund/exchange.
